Established by an entrepreneur, owned by a family, envisioned by a Swiss degree machinist

The owner of the company had a vision of his own machine shop right from the beginning of his career. The beginning was very small, literally. Can you imagine making watch parts on a lathe machine? "That was quite something" - reflects he and opens the drawer of his desk to show a small zip-lock pouch with tiny parts to the customer. "That is back from the Swatch company, a Swiss watch company with a daughter branch in Germany, where i got my apprenticeship for a machinist" - he reflects. "You have to hold the parts with tweezers and use a microscope to see all the features, of course there are special measuring instruments for quality control." Yeah, nothings runs like a Swiss watch, so precise, so reliable. During the apprenticeship he had the opportunity to visit the headquarters in Grenchen, Switzerland to deepen the experience in his trade.

With time the parts grew in size, so did the experience. Next industry was located in the beautiful black forest, making screws for the hinges on brand grasses, followed by a company that specialized in medical equipment.

Every decade marked a new challenge, new industry, new kind of parts. "But I was lucky, that I started with the smallest possible, and gradually went to making bigger and bigger parts" - he adds.

Shortly after the relocation to Canada he faced a new challenge - CNC machining and turning in a Tool and Die company near London, ON. After mastering that challenge, he started his own company, the machine shop currently known in Aylmer as Quantum Machining Inc. for precision custom parts and Manufacturing. Quantum Machining might be relatively new, but not so the knowledge and experience of the owner.
